

In today’s fast-paced world, many individuals are overwhelmed by the challenges of managing their finances, which is often directly linked to their mental well-being. Financial stress is a significant factor contributing to anxiety, depression, and overall life dissatisfaction. Despite the availability of numerous financial management and mental health apps, users often struggle to integrate these aspects into a cohesive, manageable routine. The gap between financial management and mental health support creates a cycle of stress and inefficiency.
There is a growing need for an integrated solution that addresses both financial planning and mental health management in a single, user-friendly platform. Users are looking for an application that simplifies the complexities of financial management while simultaneously supporting their mental health, making it easier to maintain balance in their lives. This need is particularly strong among professionals who face high-pressure work environments and business owners managing both personal and professional finances.
The Personal Finance and Mental Health Management App Fantel is designed to empower users by providing them with tools to manage their financial planning while actively monitoring and supporting their mental health. The app leverages intuitive design, personalized insights, and behavioral nudges to help users develop healthier financial habits and maintain mental well-being. By offering an integrated experience, the app aims to break the cycle of financial stress and promote a balanced, healthier lifestyle.



This is a project that was created based on concerns I and many people have experienced recently regarding finance management and mental health. I had a variety of roles on this project, including research, UI/UX design, and usability testing. Through thorough research, I gained insight into user behavior and expectations regarding financial management and mental health. Utilizing this research, I applied my UI/UX design skills to create an intuitive interface that could be a solution for financial management and mental health. While conducting extensive usability testing, I collect valuable feedback from users to make iterative design improvements

Many users struggle with managing their financial planning, which often leads to stress and anxiety. This difficulty in handling finances negatively impacts their mental health, creating a cycle of worry that they find hard to break. Users lack awareness of simple, effective ways to manage their finances while maintaining their mental well-being, leading to overwhelmed feelings and poor decision-making.

The goal is to increase users' awareness of how easy and interconnected financial planning and mental health management can be. By providing a user-friendly app that combines financial tools with mental health support, users can gain control over their finances while also taking care of their mental well-being. The app simplifies the process with personalized insights, actionable tips, and stress-relief tools, empowering users to achieve a balanced and healthier lifestyle.

How can we ensure users have a clear understanding of the app and its functionality?

To determine which app features Fantel had the most significant impact on users, a quantitative research survey was conducted using Google Forms. The survey targets professionals, freelancers, small business owners, tech-savvy individuals and anyone who feels the burden of managing finances while juggling other life responsibilities. This approach aims to collect broader data and gain a better understanding of existing challenges. The survey received responses from 10 participants, who provided valuable insight and a summary of their input.

The majority of users want application features to be able to manage their financial management along with mental health insights if there is excessive browsing, some users also want an app that is easy to use so it is easy to adapt, but a few of the users also want motivational content that can improve their mental health. regularly

To gain further insight into its features, I conducted qualitative research in the form of user interviews with 5 participants. The interviews provide valuable insight into the app and its features that users want.

All participants have experience using various financial management apps. They appreciate the convenience of tracking expenses and budgeting, but they often find these apps lack a holistic view of their financial well-being.

Participants who use mental health apps regularly appreciate the tools for stress management, mindfulness, and mood tracking. However, they noted that these apps often operate in isolation, without considering the financial stressors that might be affecting their mental health.

All participants expressed interest in a solution that integrates financial management with mental health support, seeing it as a way to address the interconnectedness of financial stress and mental well-being.

Participants suggested features such as stress-related spending alerts, financial goal setting tied to mental health goals, and personalized coping strategies based on financial status.

Privacy and data security were top concerns, especially when linking financial accounts with personal mental health data. Participants also emphasized the need for a user-friendly interface to avoid overwhelming users.

Based on research findings, we identify specific user needs and problems related to financial management and mental health.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Users need a unified platform that combines financial planning with mental health support, helping them manage both aspects of their lives seamlessly without juggling multiple apps.

Users require customized financial advice and mental health tips based on their unique circumstances, including stress-related spending alerts and coping strategies tailored to their financial situation.

Users need an app that is intuitive and easy to navigate, minimizing the learning curve and ensuring that they can efficiently use the app without feeling overwhelmed.

Users are frustrated by having to use separate apps for financial management and mental health, which adds complexity to their daily routines and makes it harder to stay consistent.

Users feel that their current mental health apps do not account for financial stress, leaving a significant gap in their mental health management.

There is concern among users that an integrated app could become too complex, making it difficult to use effectively. This fear of being overwhelmed could deter adoption.

To build user flows that incorporate dashboards for intuitive feature selection.

I created a user interface by introducing a dashboard that displays all the features of Fintall App, giving the user a quick overview.



Intuitive layout and visual cues help users navigate the app more effectively and make informed choices about the services they prefer.

On the exam task screen, I show various tests that are needed by the user. In addition, there are tips and information about mental health to help users know the symptoms that appear and how to deal with them.

After selecting which test to take according to the user's needs, the user has the option to cancel and find out the time required to complete the test, followed by the questions required to know the user's mental health.

On the simulation screen, I ask some useful questions to find out the budget needed based on the user's income and expenses and how long the user wants to get the item.

This budgeted simulation is useful for users who want to buy a product or item with a clear plan, starting from price, income, to the amount of money that must be set aside to buy the item within a specified time period.

On the Chat feature screen, I added a feature to chat with AI to get an explanation and more details about the problems the user is facing.



Overall, the journey flow focuses on how users can obtain more detailed information about the problems they face and solutions to these problem

Through the process of implementing this project on the Fintal application, several valuable lessons have been gained:

User research and analysis provides important insights into user needs, problems, and  preferences.

Testing and user feedback are essential to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed solutions and make iterative improvements.

Clear communication and guidance within the app is critical for users to understand and utilize certain features.

Combining familiar design patterns and best practices from successful competitors can increase user familiarity and ease of use.

User experience should be prioritized to ensure customer satisfaction and engagement with the application.

Iterative design and continuous improvement are necessary to address user issues and optimize application functionality.

These learnings underscore the importance of user-centered design, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement in creating successful, user-friendly mobile applications.

Some users who want to transfer money through the website always face difficulties starting from the complicated flow of the website, the display which is difficult to understand. This frustrates many users so they want a solution where they can register and transfer money quickly &amp; the process is easy to understand and clear.

The aim of my product is to provide a good and comprehensive solution for users who want to transfer money easily and quickly through websites. We aim to empower users to make money transfers easy and understandable for all groups of users. Our goal is to simplify the registration process, make transfers and information about accounts etc.
